Let's Get Ready to RUMBLE!!!!

Recently Jeff took Will down to Mobile for a father/son outing. They went to WWE wrestling. Will has become in love with this "sport" and even says that when he grows up he wishes to pursue a career in the field or as a scientist. (I am pulling for the science thing). In my younger day, I would have been right on the band wagon to join these two. Every Monday night at Boutwell auditorium in Birmingham,AL Lisa Maddox and her parents would pick me up and off we would go. There were a few other girls from our school that would meet us there. They were Lynn and Julie Moore. Now keep in mind we were in the 4th grade. We each had a "boyfriend wrestler". We would actually pretend that they knew we existed and loved us right back. First of all, they would have been put in the federal pen for even looking our way and second, I am quite sure these were probably happily married men. Oh, if only my mother knew what I was up to, I am positive that I would have been whisked off to church instead of CCW wrestling on a school night. These matches were televised the following Sunday afternoon. I loved wrestling and my pretend life so much. My little fun ended one day when I was seen on television by my father making a lude gesture to my "boyfriend's" competitor. He wasn't impressed or humored in the least. Though I did not attend the event with my boys, Jeff reports that Will has the same excitement and vigor for wrestling just as I did so long ago. Instead of pretending that they are his boyfriends (thank you Lord!!!!) He pretends to actually be them. Everywhere we go we see him crouching into a wrestling formation.Makes no matter if it is church, the library, grocery store, etc....... He has action figures and a tiny little wrestling ring. His wrestlers ride with us to school everyday and even sleep right next to his bed in his easter basket. Perhaps one day some little silly 4th grader will be in love with my "wrestling son." Please dont forget mom and dad!
The Midnight Express vs. Brad Armstrong & Jerry Lawler
This was my "man" in the red shorts. Cute, huh?

Here is a close up of Brad Armstrong. Back in the day he had a curly mullet that would make any 9 year old melt!

Don't worry Will is saying "number one"

This is the Big Show, he is my new favorite!

Funny Post. I only wish I knew what kind of a lude gesture you made. I am a stranger to you. I found your blog while looking at my sisters blog and just pressed "next blog" button. My name is Amy Davis and I too am married to a pastor. We live in Mississippi too around Jackson. Thanks for making me laugh!
