Rain, Rain, Will you ever go away??

Jeff and I had all of these exciting plans to finish our outdoor fountain/fish pond, plant flowers and bedding plants, prune hedges and box woods, finish cutting up all of those trees that he and Casey cut down a couple of weeks ago and anything else that needed to be done in our yard. We love to camp in the summer and know that we must get our yard in good shape so that all we have to do is an occasional weed pull and cut the grass. However, our plans were vanquished this weekend with torrential down pours of rain. I mean it wasn't one of those light mists that can actually be helpful in cooling things off. It was as if God just opened up a flood gate and said "Let er Rip." I do love watching television so after many mind numbing hours of Mrs. Neicy Nash(Clean House) telling me just how dirty everyone else in America keeps their house and getting caught up on all of my recorded episodes of Wife Swap and Trading Spouses, BTW I LOVE those two shows!!!!, ironic for a pastor's wife huh?, I decided that maybe I could find something a little constructive to do with my time. It started first with my kitchen refrigerator. I had no idea that cool whip could turn blue!! I mean my fridge was in REALLY bad shape. We had 4 bottles of French's mustard in there. Who opened a new one before the old one was used up???? Anyway, once my fridge was spotless, I moved on to the freezer. Once again I am amazed at what turned up in there. Some things were unidentifiable and I wasn't willing to thaw it in fear that it might come back to life and massacre my family. We (by we, I mean ME) moved out to the shed in the back and defrosted and cleaned out that freezer. Doesn't all of this sound like SOOOOO much fun???? All of this was on Friday. On Saturday I was so ready to get out and get started on that fish pond and those flowers. Guess what???? Yes, it was raining on that day too. My sweet husband had the great idea of us going to Hattiesburg and going to IHOP. Have any of you seen those commercials of that lucious looking CREAM CHEESE filled french toast? Every time it comes on I begin to lust!!! I know that it is wrong to lust over people but is it wrong for food??? Well just let me tell you that it was all I thought it would be AND MORE!!!!!!! If you have the opportunity to go there I HIGHLY recommend anything slatered with cream cheese and whipped cream!!!! Though my plans for yard renovations did not quite turn out like I wanted, all in all, I had a great weekend with my family. What am I thanful for today???? THE RAIN

I am so ready for the rain to stop but Tom says they are calling for like at least another couple of weeks of this same kind of weather. I am worried about my garden. Judy

I put down fertilizer today, so I'm hoping for some rain soon. I'll make sure it stays around my part of town (smile).
